Description

FlowExpertPro is an online application to size the following types of flowmeters:

ˇ  Coriolis

ˇ  Flow Orifice (IFOA: Integral Flow Orifice Assembly)

ˇ  Magnetic

ˇ  Vortex

ˇ  Compact Orifice.

The user can size the meter for a process fluid selected from the application's database, or enter a process fluid with its physical data.

Note on Configurator tabs: opening a new tab of the application saves the information on the current tab.

č   To size a Flowmeter:

1. Home page:

1.1 Select the type of Flowmeter you want to size.

2. Customer/ Representative tab:

2.1 (Optional) Enter Customer data.

2.2 (Optional) Enter Representative data.

3. Process Data tab.

3.1 Select the fluid type from the pull-down.

3.2 Specify the fluid, either:

ˇ  Select a fluid from the database

ˇ   Enter your own fluid name and physical data.

3.3 (Optional) Click Units to change the flow rate units, make your selection and click Back to Process Data with Selected Units.

4. Extended Process Data tab:

4.1 Enter the requested data.

4.2 Make selections from the pull-downs.

5. Sizing tab:

5.1 Click Results to generate a document with the flowmeter's data and graphs. The document can be printed and/or sent via email.

5.2 Click PSS to review the Product Specification Sheet.

5.3 Click Send Model Code to BuyAutomation.com to price the flowmeter (you have to be a registered user for BuyAutomation.com to get a model price).

General recommendations for you browser:

The preferred browser is IE 6.0, but IE 5.01 and better should also work.

JavaScript support and window pop-ups are required.

Select a Fluid from the database

The FlowExpertPro includes a database with commonly used fluid and their physical properties. The user can select these fluids to size the flowmeters.

č   To select a fluid from the database:

1. Click Select to specify the fluid

2. On the Fluid Selection page, highlight a fluid in the selection box.

3. Enter the fluid's normal temperature and normal pressure

4. If necessary, edit the fluid's density, viscosity, molecular weight, compressibility, and specific gravity.

5. If available, click Material Selection Guide to review the recommendations for the flow meter's construction. Click Close to return to the Fluid Selection page.

6. Click Back to Process Data with Selected Fluid and Values to save the data for the flowmeter.

7. Enter process data for your application:
- minimum, norma
l, and maximum flow rate
- minimum, and maximum pressure
- minimum, and maximum temperature.

NOTE: if you change the normal pressure and/or temperature on the Process Data tab, the application clears the density and viscosity.

8. If necessary, edit density and viscosity.

9. Open the next tab. The Process Data is saved

Specify your own fluid

Users can enter any fluid's physical properties and other data to size a flowmeter:

č   To specify your own fluid for the flowmeter:

1. Click Select to access the Fluid Selection page.

2. Click Other Fluid.

3. Enter the name of the fluid.

4. Enter process data: flow rates, pressures, temperatures, density, and viscosity.

5. Open the next tab. The Process Data is saved.
