Configure a Model

The model configurator handles all rules for a model's break levels to make sure users arrive at a valid model. For a configuration a model can have:

·  Break level selections – one selection per level

·  Optional suffixes – one or more selections for options suffixes, with quantities

·  Auxiliary specifications & Custom Aux Spec – one or more selections for Aux Specs, with quantities

·  Tags – tag set quantity same as model quantity.

 

è   To configure a model:

 

1 Click a Configure Model icon on the Search Results page. The configuration screen displays indicating if the configuration is valid or not.

2 If the Model displays as a "Valid configuration", you can still make changes.

3 Superseded models will display the new part that replaced the model.

4 ALTERNATIVE: Enter a model root in the search section and click Configure Model.

5 Make selections to create a valid configuration.

Check the "Show all" box and then Submit Selections if the options for a break level do not display.

·      Make one selection for each break level by clicking its circle

·      Make one or more selections for Optional Model Suffixes by clicking the squares. Enter quantities in the boxes provided.

·      Make one or more selections for Custom Auxiliary Specifications by clicking the circles. Teambuy members sharing their Custom Aux Spec name will appear. Drill into the member name to view their Custom Aux Specs

·      Make one or more selections for ECEP’s (Engineering Cost Estimate Products) by lciking the squares. Enter quantities in the boxes provided.

 

6 Exclamation Marks identify invalid or missing selections.

·      Make selection to reach a valid configuration. Red Exclamation marks will continue to appear in the break level area if there is still an error.

·      Any selections "grayed" out are not valid sections

·      Right mouse click on the selection to view rule

7 Enter Tags for the product. Some products require tags to define a valid configuration, for other models, tags are optional. The Tag Range might change depending on the configuration, so always enter tag data last. Each instrument should carry its own unique tag name identifier. Do not concatenate tags using multiple tag names.

8 For valid configuration, click the Add to Basket button that displays

For specific models, during the configuration process a request for compound children displays. Select and configure the compound children to build a valid configuration. Once added to the basket this group of models becomes a Data-Driven Compound
