Compass

Invensys Sales Channels may look up the Compass Opportunity ID number. The Compass ID number is assigned to your order and is retained in SAP. These opportunities have ship dates within 90 days (for Service & Product opportunity types) or within 150 days (for Project opportunity types) and thus would be required to ship from the factory typically within 90 days.

This feature is only available for Invensys Employees

image\warningbackup.gif Any order with a value of $50,000 or greater (net USD) will be required to have a Compass Opportunity number.  

To assign the Compass number you may access the ID number from

·  "Advanced basket properties" link located at the bottom of your basket page.

·  Opportunity ID

·  Click on link "Compass look up".

·  Be sure to use the Searching options available on the left hand side of the Compass ID Lookup to narrow down your look up. Be aware of the "begins with or contains" search option.

·  Highlight the Opportunity ID number typed in Teal .

·  ID number will pre-populate the field on the advanced basket properties.

·  Click Apply on the Advanced Basket Properties and Compass # will become part of the quote

·  This number will follow thru to SAP.

  OR

·  Billing and Shipping page, the top left hand side of the page under group and basket name.

·  Click on link "Compass Lookup" link in Teal.

·  Be sure to use the Searching options available on the left hand side of the Compass ID Lookup to narrow down your look up. Be aware of the "begins with or contains" search option.

·  Highlight the Opportunity ID number typed in Teal.

·   ID Number will pre-populate the field on the billing and shipping page.

·  Either continue to "check out" or use the "save for later" buttons located at the bottom of the billing/shipping page.

·  The data will follow thru to SAP.

Searching on Compass

Use any fields on the left hand side of the Compass look-up page to filter out information.

·  Start your search by entering the Country – click Search.

·  From those results enter State – click Search.

·  You can enter the City – click Search OR go to the search results on the right hand side and click "city."

·  "Phase" search must contain the number as well as the Phase. I.e. 4-close

·  All columns on the search results are sort able by clicking on the name of the column.

·  Be sure to access "begins with or contains with". Especially if you are using the Account Manager field.

·  All search criteria will remain intact when moving through the pages of the search results.

·  The Compass number will appear in Teal

image\notepin.gif If the search results are negative then enter the word "none" when prompted to enter the Opportunity ID.

Sales Phases:

·  Prospect: Should we pursue the opportunity together? Begin creating your opportunity plan and explore possibilities with the client. Access and complete the Sales Probability Index (SPI) tab

·  Develop: Is there the potential for mutual success? Continue to develop and qualify the opportunity. Update the SPI and re-evaluate the opportunity.

·  Propose: How do we advocate and differentiate? Continue to focus and position the opportunity. Develop CQA and update the SPI, re-evaluate the opportunity

·  Close: What will it take to win? Create a close plan and communicate with pursuit team. Sales negotiation strategy should be defined based on client feedback to proposal.
